Ourika Organic Aromatic Garden

Self-guided & guided tours

The Ourika Organic Aromatic Garden is open to the public for discovery visits featuring the region’s aromatic, medicinal, and ornamental plants.

Visitors can wander freely through the garden, enjoying its exceptional setting as a peaceful place to rest and relax. Open your senses to nature.

Guided tours are also available.

Discover the virtues and secrets of the garden’s fifty or so plant species, some of which are endemic to the region.

Learn about the properties and uses of these plants, along with their essential oils and hydrosols, in beauty, health, cooking, and home décor… as well as how their applications have evolved from traditional practices to modern-day uses.

Pricing

The price of the self-guided garden visit costs 20 MAD or €2 per person. Children under 12 benefit from a reduced rate of 10 MAD or €1.

The price of the guided tour depends on the number of participants :

• From 1 to 20 people : 70 MAD / person or €7
• From 21 to 50 people : 60 MAD / person or €6
• More than 50 people : 45 MAD / person or €4.50
The rate applied for children under 12 years old is 30 MAD or €3 per child.

Our Workshops

Berber Beauty

A Berber Beauty Workshop is offered to visitors wishing to take advantage of the garden’s exceptional setting to create skincare treatments using natural products Nectarome of high quality.

Two options are offered:
Facial Care and Nail Care
Or
Hand/Foot Care and Nail Care

Foot Bath

Alongside the self-guided or guided tour, visitors have the option to take part in a foot bath with bath salts Nectarome aromatisés à l’huile essentielle d’Oranger Amer (Bigaradier).

An herbal tea made from eight organic plants from the garden will be offered during this foot bath, for optimal relaxation and well-being.

The foot bath can be complemented by a relaxing foot massage performed with a massage oil Nectarome with argan oil and lemon verbena essential oil.

Henna

A Henna Workshop can also be organized for visitors.

During this workshop, explanations about henna and the Moroccan tradition of henna body art will be presented.

The henna preparation will be done in front of the visitors.

A traditional henna artist (nekkacha) will create designs on the hands, feet, or arms of visitors who wish to participate.

Bread

The Ourika Bio-Aromatic Garden offers its visitors the opportunity to discover a traditional craftsmanship of the region : bread making.

Two types of bread are prepared during this workshop :
• Made from barley mixed with nigella seeds
• Made from wheat mixed with anise seeds

During the workshop, each participant will be able to make their own bread. The specific use of these seeds in the preparation will be explained, along with the various local preparation techniques.

This workshop is followed by a bread tasting made with various local oils pressed in the garden (argan oil, sesame oil, olive oil), as well as the different local preparation techniques.

Gastronomic

In this Gastronomic Workshop, we invite you to learn how to cook various couscous or tagine recipes drawn from the traditional culinary art of the region.

Argan

Argan oil has been extracted from argan nuts in Morocco for thousands of years.

We offer garden visitors the opportunity to attend a traditional stone-mill demonstration of its production.
Visitors will also learn what argan oil is, where Morocco’s argan forests are located, and the history of this endemic tree.

We will also present the various extraction methods used today, the difference between roasted and unroasted oils, and the many uses of this remarkable oil.
